Skinny jeans on both sexes, it can be difficult to tell the sexes apart though they both like to whine about their significant other. The places that best accentuate their carefully styled hair are The Cellar playing everything deemed “alternative” because it actually uses real instruments whilst The Purple Turtle next door offers a very happy hour or 3, and karaoke so they can sing their pain out.

The Elitist/Cheap Skate

You decide logically-why waste money on expensive drinks and club entrance fees when you can party in your own crib, pre-drinks at yours start early, but then you all get so merry you decide you want to go out, realising as soon as you’ve waited 30 minutes for the U1 that this was an illogical decision and head back to the drinks you’d left thinking there was somewhere better to be. Next time, just go to the City Arm’s pound a pint Monday-you’re out the house and getting drunk-everyone’s happy.

True trustafarians spend most of the night in a haze of smoke talking to a bewildered house party guest about the merits of organic eating and the ‘disgraceful’ cannabis laws. However, come morning hemp is swapped for Ralph Lauren before hopping in the Mini to whizz down for mummy’s Sunday roast at the country house.

Wednesdays at Kukui are ‘de rigueur’, with time in the night alternating between shots of £120 Belvedere vodka at the V.I.P table, air-kissing and gossiping, whilst on Fridays, knowing the bouncer at Clem’s is essential, as is having a Blackberry in your clutch for collecting numbers of new ‘best friends’.

Rahs

Monday & Tuesday nights the sparkliest dresses and shiniest shoes come out to play at Bridge, whilst Wednesday at Fuzzys are more suitably messy and debaucherous. Both involve getting dressed up to the max (fancy dress at Fuzzys is a must), drinking beyond the limit and only remembering that your first drink was bought by someone called Hugh. Music taste not necessary.

Arthouse Addicts

Rebelling against the crowd of heeled girls and stripped to the waist Rugby boys, the night is spent watching a lesser known foreign film in The Phoenix Picturehouse, followed by an obscure bottle of beer and a self-indulgent rant at anyone not cultured enough to understand the gravitas of the subject matter.

The Recluse/T-Totalist

The highlight of the night is going to blockbusters to rent a film and pick up a kebab from the nearest food stand. Sometimes it may even be that far, downloading the film from the Internet and microwaving a congealed curry.

The Couple

Either a romantic meal at Chez Gerard, Jamie’s Italian or the like, followed by drinks at one of the ‘grown-up’ bars in the city centre, or smugly tagging along after single friends for an hour to a club before sloping off back to the bedroom.
